Curly hair is a pain!!!?

i had always had a kinky wave since i was little and when i was eleven i copied my cousin and had a perm its now ten years later and my hair is still mega curly so am i safe to say my hair is naturally curly?

Another thing is that my hair is like wire and frizzes up like tina turner i have never been able to have it straightened at hair dressers as it lasts less than an hour before it bounces back into curls any suggestions how to prevent this oh and it comes out in clumps when washed but it doesnt seem to get any thinner why ???

Curly hair is a pain!!!?

I too have been cursed with the dreaded frizz!! The best thing to do is use serum when you have washed it. This should smooth it. Also get some layers cut into it. It will lighten it up, frame your face and make it easier to manage and style. With regards to straightening it, GHD or other good quality ceramic straighteners should do the job. You can get afro ones for thicker hair as well. Ask your hairdresser for tips. The other option is to have it permanently straightened if you really do hate it that much!! With regards to it coming out when you wash it, that's because the hair is a great deal weaker when wet. Pat it dry rather than rubbing it and use an afro-comb to gently get tangles out. To get it to appear thinner, having layers put in it will help matters!

Curly hair is a pain!!!?

Well your suppose to lose a certain amount of hair a day......and i have curly hair...instead of fighting it...why dont u embrace it..i love having curly hair..it different..and it doesnt look like everyone else...just go with the curls...get some curling creal to take the frizzies out and define the curl more.

Curly hair is a pain!!!?

Be happy! I had curly hair all my life, then due to disease lost my hair and its never been the same. There are great products out there to really liven up the curls and make it look fabulous. The other thing that makes or breaks curly hair is a haircut. A good cut will bring out the beauty, a bad cut drives one insane because the curls do whatever and look awful. Personally I have to layer my hair - even before the disease - to really bring out those curls. Find a good hair dresser and talk with him/her. Find out how you can style at home, make it wash and wear and you'll learn to love your curls!

Curly hair is a pain!!!?

I know I always wanted straight spikey hair,no chance I'm afraid but what's worse is people saying" haven't you got lovely curly hair" or" I wish my hair was like yours"even worse is "I bet you eat your crusts",it still happens even now at 42.

Curly hair is a pain!!!?

Perms fail out within a few months-so its safe to say that is your natural curl. My hair does the same thing-you really cannot do much straigtening unless they put the iron in an oven-not cooking oven-there are hair dressers that have a small machine that heat up this special iron. But why fight it, you know? It's beautiful hair. Your hair will never get any thinner unless you become sick-people with curly hair tend to have more hair than those with straight-so no worries-just sounds like you are shedding and getting a new coat if you will.

Curly hair is a pain!!!?

count yourself lucky...my hair is so fine its like baby hair....takes a flipping can of hair spray to hold the bloody thing!!

PS my picture is just like me..!

Curly hair is a pain!!!?

Strangely enough my hair is getting curlier as I am getting older so I now have the 'grown out perm' effect which is a pain. My wonder product is Tigi Bed Head After Party.....but some its incredible for getting rid of frizzy and fluffy hair.

Curly hair is a pain!!!?

yep, sounds curly to me! Just let it grow. It will look fabulous. Hairdressers are really clueless when it comes to cutting curly hair anyway, so just let it grow

Curly/frizzy-ish hair?

I have naturally curly hair but I always have to straighten it because the curls all want to go different directions. Then I've got these short hairs at the top of my head that stick up and make my hair look frizzy. I've tried all of the gunk you put in your hair to get the frizzyness to go away but it doesn't work because my hair's curly, not frizzy. Basically, how do I make my curls agree with each other?

Curly/frizzy-ish hair?

After you wash your hair dry it as much as you can. Put some leave-in conditioner or curl cream in your damp hair. Divide your hair into 4 sections. Brush your hair around your finger to create a spiral curl. Do this allover your head in large or small sections. This will smooth all the hair into the same direction. Let it dry. Sometimes you need a few hours. Only when your hair is completely dry separate the spirals with your fingers. Loosen all of 'em up. Don't brush it or you'll be back at square one with the frizzies.

Curly/frizzy-ish hair?

I have frizzy hair too! Lol.

I tried this shampoo, and I'm still using it and it has GREAT results. It's L'Oreal Elseve Nutrileum shampoo. You can try it, it makes your frizzy, rebellious hair calmer. Hehe.

Curly/frizzy-ish hair?

My friend has naturally curly hair and what I've seen worked for her is to first get a good haircut. I've seen hair stylists that would just shorten the length of her hair and thats it. This doesn't help at all for curly hair because it would create the Triangle Head effect. Best thing is to find someone (that isn't lying) that have experience with cutting naturally curly hair and getting layers in your hair and thin it out mid to the ends so it's not too bushy. This is so you wont have crazy all over the place curls and gives your hair shape and even curls from top to bottom. My friend (whose caucasian)went to Japan Town and they did a great job!

Then I suggest after you wash your hair to put in leave in conditioner in your damp hair and let it air dry. For weird bumps, while your hair is wet w/ the conditioner try getting flat clips and cliping down areas where u want it to lie flatter or want certain pieces of curls to be, and let dry.Try not to blow dry because it will make hair really big/frizzy and go crazy all over, plus its damaging. once dry, arrange your hair, then lightly hairspray it to keep it in place. Try Paul Mitchel's leave-in conditioner.

Also, straitening your hair is pretty brutal on curly hair because it damages it a lot more. All that heat damage or chemical would make your curls frizz. I would really suggest using a really moisturizing hair mask once a week. And instead of using 2-in-1 shampoos to opt for the really moisturizing or for curly hair seperate shampoos and conditioners. Paul Mitchel has really nice stuff. If you are looking for more affordable try Dove or Loreal Vive stuff.

Curly/frizzy-ish hair?

I have curly/wavy hair too. After I've washed my hair I use some curl cream which is like a serum and enhances curls, getting rid of frizz. Then I let it dry naturally. I like to think that this is a fuss-free method as it only takes like a minute to put on the cream. Don't want to spend ages doing hair anyway, because natural is best. Using heated products damages your hair.

Curly/frizzy-ish hair?

Visit http://www.curlygirl.com

Here's the best advice I got from the site... don't use shampoo... just use conditioner. ( I still occassionally shampoo, cuz sometimes you just have to) Don't blow dry w/out a diffuser.

Curly/frizzy-ish hair?

To get the perfect, controlled curls you see on all the models that you see on the front of magazines, you have to use a curling iron and lots of hairspray. The only 'gunk' I'd ever consider using on my hair is hairspray. Use it after you've taken a shower so all the frizzy parts are wet and controllable.

Curly and frizzy hair...help!!!1?

okay so im a latina with really really curly hair. im not talking about nice cute little ringlets or nothing like that. its bad, its like if i just let my hair dry out naturally i'd have an afro that extends 1 foot from my head, no lie. i can't use gel cuz it dries out my hair and things like garnier and fructise just don't work because i have tough, resistant hair it won't straighten for nothing in the world. I mean i do relax it, do roller in my hair and get it blow dried and it comes out extremely straight. but i can't have my mom do my hair all the time so what can i do to my extreme afro in order to have nice, frizz free curls with not too much volume. for all those brothers and sisters out there who understand what its like having really resistance and tough hair, please give me good answers. nothin like sunsilk, john frida or nothin like that. it does nothin to my hair, i repeat nothin. please give me good solutions.

Curly and frizzy hair...help!!!1?

wat about bradeing it

Curly and frizzy hair...help!!!1?

First get it trimmed and get it thinned out/texturized with layers or the slicing technique...then get some frizz ease

Curly and frizzy hair...help!!!1?

well, it helped me but, try it anyways. get a spray bottle like the ones in bath %26amp; body works. then put small ice and water to make it full, then put it inn the freezer, at the mornin take it out let it cool down and spray all over then comb your hair...it worked for @ friend

Curly and frizzy hair...help!!!1?

you should enhance your afro. Cut your hair about shoulder length and release that hair that is dying to be set free! Afros are awsome. However if you are no the afro type of gal then try these tips:

1.Every night before bed shampoo your hair with fructis sleek and shine but condition only every other day.

2. towel dry your hair and use a paddle brush to detangle it. Try goody square paddle brush. the bristles are far apart and wont rip your hair

3. rub a dime sized dropof shine serum in your hair while it's damp then let it air dry while you sleep.

4. in the morning flip your head over and run john frieda frizz ease secret weapon flawless finishing creme through your hair.

I hope these work for you, if not then consult a hair dresser!

If you have money at your disposal, Japanese straight will set you back $750 to $1500 every 6 to 9 months(go to google search for a salon near you). If you are in the cheaper the better catagorie like me, then this has rave reviews: A flat iron by www.folica.com cost about $80 with s.h.

Curly and frizzy hair...help!!!1?

you can try to get it really thinned(i got it thinned, it worked great), and then layering in the front. don't layer it in the back, or else the hair in the back will really puff up(only layer in the back if you have straight hair).

all you have to do is put mouse or gel in your hands,

and just scrunch your hair from the root,to the bottom

if you ahve thick hair (which id assume that you do)

then make sure you do it in layers =]

CUrly hair problems! someone with curly hair HELP?

Suave came out with this stuff that's supposed to be for heat styling your hair and I bought it since I had tried to use a curling iron to smooth out my curly hair ( sounds stupid but if you have curly hair you understand ). Anyway - it's in an orange spray bottle and it leaves my hair frizz free whether I blow dry or air dry. It's pretty awesome! Ok I just googled it and it's the "Sleek" line from Suave and it's supposed to be as good as Matrix. I haven't tried the shampoo and conditioner but I will soon.

CUrly hair problems! someone with curly hair HELP?

OMg i have curly hair too!!!!!!! doesnt everyone say, "i wish i had ur hair! its so beautiful!," well i use ausse shampoo and conditioner for my hair and sometime curl around from jonh freida. i have that same probelm that every time i get out of the shower i have tp put something in it to make it non frissy. i have 2 different tthings i put in and they both work but dont put them in at the same time.1.moose2.something called"wired".they both work really well and i dont know if u do this but i have found that this just makes it frizzy,ONLY BRUSH UR HAIR WHEN ITS WET otherwise its all frizzy. HOPE THIS HELPS!

CUrly hair problems! someone with curly hair HELP?

I use Pantene Hydrating curl shampoo. I also use frizz ease, pantene frizz gel, and a bumble bumble product that gives my curls more bounce.

What I do is brush out my hair after showering (when it's still fairly wet) and then put the frizz ease in. I brush it again, then put the other two products in my hair, and my curls come out looking bouncy and soft.

Hope I helped ! =]

CUrly hair problems! someone with curly hair HELP?

Oh, I know what you mean....I have curly hair too. I have tried a lot of different products but I think I finally found "The One"

I use......

Redkin (Rewind and Outshine)

....Rewind is kind of like a gel/pommade

Outshine will help with the frizzes. And you can even mix a little of each together when styling your hair. Hope this helps

CUrly hair problems! someone with curly hair HELP?

Okay, I have SUPER curly hair too. The best anti-frizz thing I have ever used is called "Sleek.Look." it's a smoothing system by MATRIX. It's the number 3 Lite styling creme. It works grat on my hair! I hope this helps you.

CUrly hair problems! someone with curly hair HELP?

i have curly hair and ive finally gotten to the point where im not going crazy with it -- some tips i live by

dont wash your hair every day - every other day keeps it softer

use a clarifying shampoo to remove buildup once a week

use a very rich conditioner like pantene or infusium

dont blow dry or curl, it will dry it out and make it worse

get it trimmed regularly by somone who knows how to do curly hair. if you get a cut you dont like, try to get your money back and go to someone else

twirl it with your fingers while wet to bring out the large curls and reduce frizz - curly hair is supposed to be curly, dont fight it, just encourage it

CUrly hair problems! someone with curly hair HELP?

If you want a cheap way to make your curly hair pretty and not frizzy use sunsilk defrizz 24/7 creme. It works really well and it isnt expensive. I've never tried the shampoo or conditioner, but you could try them. = )

CUrly hair problems! someone with curly hair HELP?

me tooo!!! =)

I have loose curls, they are beautiful, I love them but they recquire a little bit of product to keep em' gorgeous heh

here's what I find as great products:

drugstore : tresemme (sp?) works great

get the moisture formula

salon/beauty store: Pureology (reconstructor), Biolage, Matrix (sleek) , Paul Brown (clarifying formula or moisture)

these are all natural with little or no alchohol, that is key.

alchohol dries the hair no matter what type you have.

tresemme(sp?) has little chemical drying ingridients

Purelogy,Matrix,Biolage,Paul Brown : are all organic stuff, cost a little bit more but totally worth it. Get a trim too, it'll smooth the curls out create shape

good luck!

Curly fizzy hair??

i have curly hair that is really frizzy i dont want to straighten it because the hairstylist told me not to i had split ends and now i got rid of them and dont want them back i need some hairstyles for my hair its curly light brown and medium length??

also any tips for managing my hair after i shower and how to keep it curly the next day

Curly fizzy hair??

- Read the book and visit the sites below about curly hair. I did and my once horrible curly hair is now virtually frizz-free ringlets. Now I get compliments on my hair all the time! Straighten your hair- be happy for a day, learn to manage your curly hair- be happy for life!

- To style your hair using the curly-girl method you will need gel, a leave in cream, and conditioner at the minimum. Some less useful, but still nice stuff would be a blowdryer, a diffuser (reduces frizz in curly/wavy hair when used with dryer), and a microfiber hair turban (to dry wet hair while sleeping or in the morning).

-The main philosophy of the curly-girl method is to not use shampoo. This may sound unhygenic but it has actually made my hair less oily and dandruffy. Most shampoos contain some of the same chemicals found in laundry detergent (sodium laureth sulfate, sodum lauryl sulfate, ammonium laureth sulfate, ammonium lauryl sulfate, etc.). They dry out curly hair. Also you shouldn't brush your curly hair dry because it damages the hair and makes it poof.

- Massaging of the scalp with conditioner to remove dirt is all that is needed. It will clean everything but super clingy silicones (cyclopentasiloxane and dimethicone are examples). Then rinse and spread conditioner on the outside layer of hair and the hair at the nape of your neck. Gently comb tangles out with your fingers or a wide toothed comb and rinse with cold/cool water.

- Do not brush/comb your hair after this point because it wil disturb the curl pattern (make sure you already have a part). It is also important to use gel on sopping wet hair and scrunch the hair with your fingers. Make sure gel is evenly distributed everywhere in your hair. If you use too much you can always scrunch out the crunchy texture later.

- Use paper towels or an old t-shirt to gently scrunch some of the water out (generic towels can make hair frizz). You can either let your hair air dry or wait ten minutes and then use a blowdryer with a diffuser. Dry until your hair is almost dry, and then air dry the last bit. Do not touch the hair while it is air drying or it will frizz!

- Use a moisturizing conditioner, such as Kenra Moisturizing Conditioner (found at Ulta) or Activate Hydrating Conditioner (found at most drugstores). The combo of products that I use daily is L'Oreal Out of Bed Weightless Texturizer (comes in a black-colored tub) and then Herbal Essences Set Me Up Gel or Body Envy Gel, but there are more conditioners, gels, etc. on the websites. The products I recommended are my personal favorites and contain no silicones or drying alcohols.

- As for keeping it curly, you'll probably want to take showers in the morning so your hair doesn't mess up. If after that you want to wear it down the next day too, try wearing your hair in a high ponytail using a scrunchie ( hair twistie covered in cloth) the night before. Also, sleeping on a sating pillow case will also preserve curls. If you still want to take showers at night you can try plopping. This website explains it:

http://www.naturallycurly.com/curlcolumn...

- Your hair may seem worse at first, but it is just adjusting. This may take a couple weeks to begin working. Before you decide to quit shampoo, do a final cleanse with shampoo and stop the use of any products with silicones in them. Hope this helps!

Curly fizzy hair??

Try pantene leave in moisterizer, also if you want to streighten it out put that in and then blow dry it. That will also help with splitins. This also helps after you shower and bath. Sorry I don't have any tips on how to cut your hair. p

Curly fizzy hair??

umm.. brush it??

Curly fizzy hair??

well my hair does the same thing when i blow dry it. have you tryed letting it air dry? you could also get shampoo that helps it not be so frizzy....or you could just use hair products that protect your hair from the heat of a curling iron or straightener. go to this sight for some info on this product...http://www.monsterhair.com/index.asp?Pag...

umm also to keep it curly just put like some kinda hair products or gels and scrunch it....

Curly fizzy hair??

Best product line for curly hair is Ouidad (www.ouidad.com)

they specialize in curly hair. I buy the 33.5 oz bottles of their "Tame Shampoo" %26amp; "Tame Balancing Rinse" and "Climate Control Gel". The gel is light, helps define curls and helps to keep hair curly not frizzy especially in humid weather. The 33.5 oz bottles last me about a year (My hair is a little longer than shoulder length) %26amp; are cheaper than buying the smaller bottles.

If you are going to use a blow dryer, use a diffuser to reduce frizz %26amp; split ends.

Also, I usually just dampen my hair the next day to reactivate the curls (I use a spray bottle with water) fluff the curls %26amp; I'm good to go. :o )

Curly hair won't curl?

I have naturally very curly hair but after I straightened my hair with a hair straightener about 2 weeks it has not returned back to normal. It was only a one time straighten and now my hair is wavy and some parts are still straight. Is there anything I can do or should I just cut my hair?

Curly hair won't curl?

A very good idea would be to use a shampoo for curly hair...then add Volumizing mousse that adds volume and accentuates your natural curls when you get out of the shower....then scrunch up your hair with your fingers ..then use a diffuser. This should help...but keep doing this for a couple of days so your hair can get used to its natural curls. My friend had the same problem. I also told her to braid her hair in two braids when her hair was wet and sleep with it like that. It eventually worked too. You can cut your ends only, to get rid of the damage that way your hair is healthier and a lot more manageable... I hope it works for you !

Curly hair won't curl?

Sounds like you really fried your hair. Try doing a deep conditioning treatment once a week along with your normal washing routine. The added moisturizer should cause your curls to return. You can trim the damaged ends off, but you don't necessarily need to cut your hair short.

Curly hair won't curl?

You can try to cut maybe 1 or 2 inches off to give it more bounce for curls. Use some curling products for the first couple of days and then hopefully it will go back to its natural curls. =)

Curly hair won't curl?

I say you have just been straightening your hair too much, obviously haha. Make sure you are using a ceramic straightener like Chi, because that will not damage your hair as much. Also go to the store and get a shampoo and condition that is used made for people with curly hair and use that. Your hair will go back to being its pretty curly ways soon, just try not to straighten it for a couple of days and if you blow dry your hair, stop because that also damages your hair. If you want it be to curly right away you can always scrunch it get some aussie scrunching gel and just scrunch your hair right after you get out of the shower. Good luck. I am sure your pretty curls will be back in no time:).

Curly hair won't curl?

Curly hair has a mind of it's own and tends to be dry anyway. It sounds like you over processed your hair and fried it. First you need a good conditioner to try and bring it back. I gave up on trying to get mine to do what I wanted and found a good stylist who knows how to cut my hair. I also use something by Aveda called Be Curly. This cuts down on frizz and gives your curl some control.

If you want to your hair straight every now and then don't use a chemical process, just blow it dry straight and use a flat iron on it. It is much better for your hair.

I wish you luck.

Curly Hair For Relaxed/Permed Black Hair?

how can you make your hair curly if you have relaxed straight hair, i have straightners and a curler but when ever i do it my hair just goes straight again a couple minutes after...

please help... what can i do to make it stay curly

all answers are appreciated

x x

Curly Hair For Relaxed/Permed Black Hair?

I have relaxed hair and I use spritz when I put spiral curls in my hair. But if I just want curly curly hair I use my STEAM ROLLERS. I also put wrapping lotion in my hair IF I use my ROLLERS without the steam!

Curly Hair For Relaxed/Permed Black Hair?

When you do that you have to use hairspray after so it keeps the hold.

Curly Hair For Relaxed/Permed Black Hair?

you could try scrunching your hair this always seems to work , you need gel , and some hairsparay and your hair needs to be wet and you just put the gel in and work you hair in everyway to try and make it wavey/curly.

Curly Hair For Relaxed/Permed Black Hair?

Roller set you hair after shampooing it with setting lotion then sit under a hair dryer to bake the curls. Spray with spritz after so it will hold the style.

Curly Hair For Relaxed/Permed Black Hair?

Well one trick I use is putting my hair in box braids for a day or two then loose them out and my hair gets curly, or sectioning my hair and wrap each section around my fingers and put hair pins in and then hours later it's curly, but this is only soft curls.

hey guys. i have naturally curly/wavy hair..i say curly/wavy because my hair is just wavy in spots then in the worst spots - the back and ends of my hair - are sooo curly. i call it "ugly curly" haha. i want my hair to look like this:

http://a703.ac-images.myspacecdn.com/ima...

so kinda loose waves. like i said, i already have natural kink in my hair, but my hair tends to be the ringlet type of curly at the tips of my hair and in the back. i want WAVES. tips? i have sea salt spray ... thank you allll :)

How do i settle my curly hair down to waves? tips?

Get a good lotion for your hair from your beuty salon, then with your blow dryer use the attachments that look like a big comb but with a hole like a cup. Blow dry your hair with that just crunching it up to your head. It will give you soft girls vs stiff ones. I am sorry I don't know the name of the attachment but it will work, my sister has one and her hair is also very curly.

There should be a way to take care of your hair dilemma. If you make sure that you condition it very well it should go back to its original state if you take the proper precautions to take care of your hair. The perm might damage your hair so that when your hair grows out again. The perm should be your last resort if you are crushed for time. Otherwise, NATURAL IS BETTER!!!

Curly hair dilema?

i have really straight hair to get it curly i use charles worthington takeaways curl definition cream it's excellent

Curly hair help me!!!?

ok so i have really curly hair and occasionally it looks nice...

but sometimes i feell like i look stupid with a high pony tail or low pony taai and it gets so puffy

is there any type of hair gel along wit spray that best works and does anyone have any other type of hair style curly hair can work wit other then bieng down all the time??

Curly hair help me!!!?

buy hairstaighteners!!! or buy straightening gel.

Curly hair help me!!!?

I have nasty curly hair too. I really cant stand my hair being down, unless it is a very special occasion. I use the ponytails a lot too. I also do a small mohawk on the front (like fluffy(and then slick back the rest of the hair in a ponytail, and let the back go wild, I've been told it looks cute. Another hair style I do is one that I saw J.Lo with! Part a small piece of hair on the middle front, slick it back into a very low ponytail and with hair from the ponytail, just twirl it and put it in a bun, it looks classy, I use this one a lot. Hope this helps!

Curly hair help me!!!?

I have curly/wavy hair too. Sometimes it can go a bit frizzy, so after I've washed it I add some curl cream, which acts like a serum and enhances the curls. I let it dry naturally. It's good that you like your curls as alot of girls straighten their hair poker straight and are being like sheep. Curly hair looks much more natural and lively.

Curly hair help me!!!?

I have curly hair, and, well, I noticed that right after I brush it, it gets frizzy and doesn't look all that great. So I stopped brushing it right before I left the house, that helped. Also, something my husband told me and I think is true... People can wear anything (hair, clothes, accessories, etc.) and as long as you have the confidence then you can pull it off and it looks good. So basically, wear your hair however you want (within reason,) and it Will look good as long as you feel good about it. (This does not mean you should suddenly dawn a Mohawk or anything!) But as far as gel or any of that stuff goes, I have used a thick almost glue-like putty to scrunch my hair with so that the curls stay together, but I mix it with water so it doesn't get crunchy.

Still my favorite style is the straightening iron!

Curly hair help me!!!?

i was like you but i asked my mum really nicely if she could buy me a straightener and she did and after about 2 or 3 months of staightening my hair every so often it has gone staight and i don't have to straighten it as much as i used to!!!!!!!!!

i hope that's answer your question

Damadge/ frizzy / and relly bad curly hair needs help!!!!!!!!?

Damadge/ frizzy / and relly bad curly hair needs help!!!!!!!!?

Hi. Congratulations! The first step to hair recovery is to admit what did it and then stop doing it. Im glad youre not going to straighten your hair anymore. For me, I do it maybe 3 - 4x a year, thats a big maybe. Your hair can improve, but the damage is done. So while your hair's growing, trim it a little. If your hair grows fast, this should be easy. If not, it'll take a while.

Stay away from any other heat appliances like the diffuser, hand blow dryer, and curling irons. Also, dont color hair either for now (I dont know if you do, but you should only color hair if its healthy).

Here are some tips I use. Maybe they might work for you.

1. If you can, put your hair into some big loose braids (like maybe 6-8 braids). If your hair's really tangled (which happens sometimes), put conditioner in hair to make it softer and managable, then put braids in.

2. When shampooing, shampoo only the scalp. If you put it all over your hair, it'll feel very dry and stripped. Curly hair should only be shampooed 1x/week (actually this goes for all hair types) since shampoo's harsh. If you need to wash hair often, you can do a conditioner rinse (its skipping the shampoo, but using conditioner instead). If this sounds gross, its not. I've been doing this for 1 yr now and my hair's fine. But there are some no-poo shampoos if you dont like this idea.

3. Wash out suds. DONT RUB HAIR AGGRESSIVELY OR TANGLES AND FRIZZ WILL HAPPEN! Just squeeze out braids gently until everything washes out.

4. When applying conditioner, take 1 braid down, apply conditioner and smooth, then fingercomb tangles out (you can use a wide-tooth comb instead, nothing smaller, but I like fingercombing better). Braid back loosely and do to all other braids. When you wash it out, squeeze braids gently until everything comes out - or you can leave some conditioner still in your hair to leave it nice and soft.

5. DONT TOWEL DRY HAIR! This always causes frizzies. I squeeze out some water, and while wet, apply a curling custard cream (I will show you where to buy them). You can only use curling custard cream when hair's wet, so youll need a spray bottle with water to spritz hair when it starts getting dry. Take down 1 braid, apply an ample amount of curling custard to section, then braid back. Do this to all other braids and spray some leave-in conditioner in your hair. Then let air dry. When you take it out, it should be nice and wavyish curly.

NOTE: If you dont know how to braid, you can still do this. Just shampoo the way I told you and condition the way how I told you, but you would just apply the conditioner to sections of your hair and detangle instead of braiding. When you wash it out, dont RUB, but gently squeeze hair until everything comes out. Apply the curling custard to sections of your hair so that you wont miss any section. Then spray some leave-in conditioner, scrunch a little bit and let air dry (dont flip your hair, just bend over, dont scrunch too hard, and pick your head up).

YOU SHOULD NEVER COMB OR BRUSH YOUR HAIR WHEN ITS DRY! NEVER! You are calling for frizz. You could brush when wet, but only the one that you use in the shower. There are some good brushes like Denman, but I cant help you in that department since I dont use any.

Here are some product websites to look at for curly hair. I use some of them and they are wonderful.

www.curls.biz

www.janecartersolution.com

www.devachansalon.com - click online store

www.johnmasters.com

www.jessicurl.com

www.blendedbeauty.com

www.curljunkie.com

www.longlovelylocks.com

www.kinky-curly.com

www.naturallycurly.com - different product reviews - buying is in "curlmart" or somewhere around there

Take a look and see what you like. I like them because they have more natural ingredients and work better than the ones in pharmacies. You should also have a moisturizer you can use when hair is dry too. Some people like to put gels or mousse too, I dont need it, but some of the websites have those too. Hope this helps. God bless.

Damadge/ frizzy / and relly bad curly hair needs help!!!!!!!!?

i have extremely curly hair too

what you should do is find a shampoo that is specially made for curly hair

they moisturize and help control frizz

sunsilk and herbal essences work well

you can also you mouse or curling gel to get the style you want

they also make sprays to help curl and control frizz

if you just want a shampoo to help restore your hairs moisture look for one with hummecant ((sp?))

it moisturizes VERY well

Damadge/ frizzy / and relly bad curly hair needs help!!!!!!!!?

try rusk calm conditioner it may take a week or so but it does wonders:) and any hair products that arent from the salon, tend to do more damage!

Damadge/ frizzy / and relly bad curly hair needs help!!!!!!!!?

You need to either try products by redken such as Smooth down( for curly or frizzy hair) or Avlon Keracare's Line..the hydrating'detangling shampoo works wonders...you also need a deep conditioning treatment try Humecto by keracare..it will make your hair smooth and managable...you also need to get those ends clipped and continue to keep them clipped...have your layers cut a little shorter so they can be seen and watch how you are able to maintain your hair and be pleased...

PS When you decide to straighten it again, make sure you use a thermal protect. on your hair..I would recommend Silk infusion by Chi...you dont need alot but maybe the size of a dime in your hand and work it through your hair...Alway make sure to protect your hair and check the temp. gauge on your flat iron to make sure it is not to high or hot...

buy smoothing creams,and conditioners

and shampoos made just for curly hair

but seriously buy lots of smoothing creams;

they get rid fo fly aways and frizz

also,if you like the look where your hair looks wet and curly,

just moose your hair and gell it after you get of the the shower

it makes your hair look wet,and if you have curly

hair its perfect. and it will tame teh frizz, too.

all you have to do is put mouse or gel in your hands,

and just scrunch your hair from the root,to the bottom

if you ahve thick hair (which id assume that you do)

then make sure you do it in layers =]

CUrly hair problems! someone with curly hair HELP?

CHI its a silk infusion and you can get it at any salon. Use a small amount, more for longer hair. You can use it on damp or dry hair. Also softens hands. Its expensive but worth it.

Get a trim too, it'll smooth the curls out create shape

good luck!

How to get curly hair when I have long straight hair?

I have really long hair almost to my butt. Sometimes I want curly hair for a change. I do not want to have to go get a perm, I have tried hot rollers, they do not work, curlling iron does not work, what else can I try. I have thin hair to it is not really thin but it is not thick either so How do I get curly hair when I want curly hair. I have tried the braids thing to looks supid with some hair straight at the top and straight at the bottom.

How to get curly hair when I have long straight hair?

curling iron doesn't work? that's weird.

just go to the salon and tell them you want your hair curled..

How to get curly hair when I have long straight hair?

Do overnight sponge curlers. There are different sizes. Put them in when your hair is wet, but not too wet (damp) and then sleep with them in. In the morning it should be curly cause I did it and I ended up with REALLY curly hair, so since you have long hair yours should come out good. Theyre cheap too by the way you can get them at a drugstore like CVS

How to get curly hair when I have long straight hair?

Your hair is much too valuable an asset for you to keep experimenting on it. Bini is right...you should go to the salon. Let the experts do it. If you could, bring a picture of the hair style that you want so they could "copy" it. Don't forget to ask for tips on how you could maintain the "salon look". Good luck. I hope you get the look that you're going for. SMILE!

How to get curly hair when I have long straight hair?

Get a professional advice. Go to a beauty salon, the hairdressers there will know what to do. Next time you can do it by yourself so you won't have to spend. I know how expensive it is at the salons.

How to get curly hair when I have long straight hair?

you go get a digital perm from "toney and jackey". its about PHP3,000. its that good, celebrity effect.

How to get curly hair when I have long straight hair?

go to the salon, miss

How to get curly hair when I have long straight hair?

ok i have tried everything for curly hair i have straight hair about to my bra strap and i had softball camp all this week so it has been in a ponytail

and well i took it out of a ponytail and it was all icky and knotted so i sprayed johnsons no more tangles detangling spray and sprayed a lot in there i works great and smells great then i twisted it in a bun then secured it with a ponytail holder!

GOOD LUCK

Hair issues for naturally curly hair?

I need help from people with experience with curly hair and/or stylists!! I have naturally curly shoulder length hair. Over the years, and two children later, my hair is SO different and unruly!

The problem:

1.) VERY dry and frizzy. Especially on the top of my head. When I'm finished styling it, there is a halo of frizz sticking up. My hair feels like straw. Literally.

2.) Overprocessed. I've had it colored pretty much every 6 wks. in the last year. Highlights and lowlights. Used to highlight maybe twice a yr.

My typical routine/products:

I shampoo about every other day. Sometimes daily. (I know everyone says shampoo less often, but it's hard!) I've been using Pantene for curls for S %26amp; C. Deep cond occasionally, like Neutrogena mask. To dry I've been wrapping hair in an old t-shirt. (Some random tip I read.) Leave in cond, FrizzEase mousse, dry with diffuser, frizz product. (I've tried biosilk, glass drops by PM, Rusk, Fekkai gloss cream, etc, etc.

PLEASE I need advice!! Thx!

Hair issues for naturally curly hair?

Another girl asked this same question yesterday and this is the answer I gave her.

"I have the same hair, overprocessed and a natural poof. When i want more defined curls I usually shower at night and then while my hair is wet I'll rub shine serum through it and then I'll take strands and curl them loosely( not tight ) around my finger and then bobby pin the curl. I do about 40 strands and then spray it with a very little bit of light hold hair spray, go to sleep, wake up take out the bobby pins and ,wallah , i have bouncy (not tight) full locks of soft curly hair. it works really well."

Other things I can suggest are getting a relaxer for your hair, it will calm it down tremendously. I really like Redken shampoos and conditioners for my hair too. The All Soft works the best.

Your hair cleaning process is probably incorrect as well. When you shampoo your hair, you should be massaging the scalp and giving the shampoo time to penetrate into the hair cuticles, so let the shampoo sit for about 2 to 5 minutes. the same with conditoner, allow it time to penetrate and do its magic. Rinse out shampoo and conditioner with cold water when you're all done, another frizz reducing trick.

Hair issues for naturally curly hair?

I too have dry frizzy hair, and all I do to mine is wash every other day or so; wrap in a towel to dry (probably a horrid thing to do who knows) and use a straightener a few times a week...I use Treseme (Spelled that wrong I know) shampoo and conditioner, w/ various leave in conditioners/ frizz products..I wish I could me more of a help, it does seem the older I get the worse it has become.

Hair issues for naturally curly hair?

Hi there,

To start, you should start washing your hair every third day. Especially if your hair is dry already. If you are having a hard time with that, you can buy some dry shampoo and sprinkle it in your hair for those days you want to wash but shouldn't

The more you highlight your hair, the drier it's going to become. If you want healthier hair, make your hair darker, not lighter. If you must go lighter, make sure you are using a good conditioner.

Bed Head is a good product line for color treated hair. You can pick a shampoo and conditioner based on your hair.

Your hair might be feeling greasy because you are putting too many products in it. If you are using a leave in conditioner, you should not be using a regular one in the shower.

Another product you may want to try is Kiwi by Loreal. You can get the shine spray to tame those frizzies.

HTH!

Hair issues for naturally curly hair?

I've read the book "Curly Girl", by Lorraine Massey. She gives a lot of great tips and home recipes to keep your curly hair looking great. I've tried a few of them and so far, I love it!

Also in the book she recommends some salons specialized on treatment of curly hair, although these are kind of expensive.

Hair issues for naturally curly hair?

Couple things to try: don't blow dry, even with diffuser. Let it air dry. Try using conditioner in the shower, rinse, then put a little bit more in and leave it in (doesn't have to be specifically leave in conditioner). Scrunch hair with towel to get out some of the moisture, then let air dry. If you can, do your hair at night, including gel or mousse, then let it dry naturally overnight. You should wake up with the best hair ever. If all else fails, straighten it with a Chi (and only a chi) straightening iron. If you do this for a few days in a row, chances are your curls will relax a bit on their own.

Hair issues for naturally curly hair?

okay first thing I speak from experience my hair sounds just like your it feels like straw and is very very dry and I dyed my hair a lot last year.... so here's what's first

the frizz ease stuff literally gives you frizz I used it.

try using Garnier fructis sleek and shine shampoo and conditioner, wash hair every day use the conditioner every other day otherwise you'll get a build up so then when you get out put some length and strength cream in your hair by garnier, then after you work that through your hair put a little bit of anti frizz cream in your hair by obviously garnier.

then brush it through your hair and and part it where ever, take and twirl little sections of your hair around your finger so it looks like a spiral then when you've done that with all your hair use your diffuser but don't take it all the way up to your scalp only do it on the tips then when the tips are dry leave the top part a little damp and and let it air dry.

trust me it worked for me and it took me along time to figure out this stuff but try it because it sounds like my hair.

I hope I helped.

Hair issues for naturally curly hair?

My long hair is very fine, rather thin %26amp; curly. I really make an effort not to torture my locks. I looked up natural / homemade hair conditioner recipes. Some say mayonnaise, some say a blend of mashed avacado %26amp; mayo. I like plain mayo. I put it on clean hair (no products left on like spray or mousse) but not wet hair. Then I put on a shower cap %26amp; a ski cap, %26amp; wear for an hour or so. Wash well. Also, I find that Pantene dries my hair out. I use Triple Moisturizing Neutrogena shampoo %26amp; conditioner. I love their shine serum oil. Another tip said to rinse with the coldest water you can stand when you wash you hair. This causes the cuticle to lie flat.

I also am hypOthryroid which can cause hair to be dry %26amp; break easily. You may want to be checked for that as it can lead to serious other issues.

Hair issues for naturally curly hair?

I share your frustration. The problem is the products you are using. Hair gloss or shiners won't fix it. That's like caking on make up to a face full of acne. Go to the root of the problem. Literally. Ulta beauty stores carry the best selection of products. Matrix has worked the best for me, and believe me, I've tried every brand! I recommend Matrix Sleek Look. It comes in orange bottles. It smooths the hair cuticle (outer layer) without leaving your hair flat. They always have deals like Shampoo %26amp; Conditioner $28. Do a deep conditioning treatment once a week using Good products. Don't ever shop at a regular store for hair products. Remember, you get what you pay for. You can buy sample size cond. treatments at your local beauty supply for under $5 which is enough for 1 or 2 uses. Matrix Biolage Hair Glaze is THE best product I've found for my hair. It separates the curls and keeps them frizz free. Never wrap your hair in anything! That creates frizz. Always use a diffuser and a professional hair dryer from beauty supply. This is all you need for great curls.

Garnier Fructis Curl and Shine

Hair issues for naturally curly hair?

Hi there. I too have naturally curly hair %26amp; after years of tinkering with it %26amp; product experimentation I have finally found something that works.

1st STOP washing your hair with that horrible crapTene. You might as well be washing your hair in rubbing alcohol. Those drug store product contain drying agents that strip your hair of its natural oil %26amp; cause more nasty frizz. Yes salon products are different they are made with more moisturizing agents. I understand the need to wash your hair daily but if you must Use a sulphate free shampoo to wash your hair with. Try Devacare No Poo or Lo Poo most of the time. Then maybe 2x a month use a shampoo that contains sulfates but make sure its mosturizing and specific to curly hair.

2. Condition your hair everyday. In fact you really should just run conditioner through your hair daily instead of shampooing. I like the Devacare 1 conditioner, but the Redken Moist Curls conditioner works well as well as the Bumble %26amp; Bumble curly hair conditioner.

3. After your rinse out the conditioner take a little bit %26amp; run it through your hair top to end but dont rinse out. Squeeze out ALL the excess water but dont towel dry your hair. DONT wrap a towel or shirt or anything. Just squeeze out the water %26amp; clip your hair up.

4. Products. STOP using anything with alcohol in it as it only dries your hair out and causes frizz. Mousse has tons of alcohol %26amp; its volumizing -- ie. just makes your hair frizzier. Use a product specific for curly hair. Aveda Be Curly styling cream, Devacare Angell, Bumble %26amp; Bumble curly styling gel etc.

5. Part your hair into 2 sections. Then run the product from root to ends of your hair. Then use a bit more product to style your hair - depart. Just let your hair dry naturally. DO NOT use a blow dryer but if you must use a LARGE diffuser. Set the dryer on cool and keep it as far away from your hair as possible %26amp; dry slightly.

6. DONT TOUCH your hair while its wet. Once its dry you can run a little bit of glossing/anti frizz serum like FrizzEase in your hair. DONT COMB or rub the curls. Just kinda fluff the serum into your hair.

7. For the overprocessing issue. You should use a deep conditioner 1x a month. Try to get a protein based deep conditioner like Phytojojoba or the like. Dont use it more than 1x a month as it'll make your hair more brittle.

Yes this seems like a lot of work but its not. Your actually going to use less product %26amp; spend less time dealing with your hair. Remember less is more.

If you need place to buy products then go to www.naturallycurly.com They have a ton of products that are specific to curly haired folks.

Hair issues for naturally curly hair?

I think part of the problem is using products with sililcones and sulfates. The plastic just coats your curls and looks good for a bit and then the dryness and frizz sets in because of all the plastic build up. The sulfates just cause dryness. A good cleanser and conditioner without sulfates is Devacurl. The Care line of this product is great for color treated curls. Use your pantene once a week just to clarify if you want to. Good curl products that are water based are Curly Hair Solutions Curl Keeper which you put on when hair is really wet. After the tshirt drying which is a great idea! Then follow with Ag recoil for curl definition and keeping the frizz away. I work at naturallycurly.com where you can get all these products and more. You will love your curls when you use these great products!

Curly Hair... HELP!!!?

I am a Caucasian sixth grader with dirty blonde (It looks brown) and very curly hair. All my life I have been tying my hair back in a ponytail when it is wet to make the top part dry straight and then I would straighten the bottom of my ponytail to make it look like I had straight hair. But I am tired of doing this so I need some advice on good curly hair products to use. What do you use that works?

Curly Hair... HELP!!!?

Ok. I'm in 9th grade and I have brown hair and its extremely poofy and curly. Before school (yes I'm sorry to say you have to wake up earlier then normal) or this summer have a long bath and try to put 2 rinses of shampoo and 1 conditioner. I know then you buy some frizz-less product and silk it into your hair. and then brow-dry it till its dry and it'll come out way straighter. And by the way dont blow-dry up it'll make frizz and try and blow dry it down from scalp to ends.

Curly Hair... HELP!!!?

dont put ur hair in a ponytail while its wet because it will grow mold. use herbal essences totally twisted.

Curly Hair... HELP!!!?

Really, really curly hair..What can I do??

My hair is naturally curly and brown. When it's straightened, it goes to my shoulder blades and when its curly it goes just below my chin. That's how curly it is. It poofs out when it's curly, but I put moisturizer in it everytime. I can't straighten my hair every single day with how curly it is, and sometimes it frizzes. What can I do to make it cute curly??

Really, really curly hair..What can I do??

buy sunsilk shampoo for curls they make your curls look really nice..i know this because my mom uses it. Also the sunsilk stuff for curls has a conditioner, shampoo, and a leave in conditioner, and i think they have a hairspray so you should be fine just using sunsilk...i hope it helps...

People with curly hair, how do you do your hair on school days?

I have to go to school in the morning and I don't have much time to deal with my hair which is curly like springs. And when I go out I can just wash my hair, brush it and keep it open and let it dry naturally then it becomes boucy curlz. But the problem is that on normal skool days I can't wash it, brush it then leave it open coz our school doesn't allow open hair.

So i have to tie it back. Yesterday I went out at night and left my hair to dry and it became bouncy curlz but of course I can't brush it so i just tie it but then in the morning there are bits of hair sticking out everywhere so i have to do something to it and it no longer looks good. so i have to brush it etc. etc.

I see people with curly hair @ skool but they have it tied neatly and doesn't look like it hasn't been combed.

I also don't have time to straighten it and I do use softening cremes. And since the weather is hot here I like it in a bun. But how can I get neat buns without having to brush my hair??

People with curly hair, how do you do your hair on school days?

I also have tight springy curly hair. I straighten it a lot, but when I do leave it curly I am able to make it work.

Don't brush your hair when its dry, even if you are putting it in a ponytail. Brush it when its wet, then let it dry curly. What you want to do is put it in a loose ponytail, lower on your head, but not too low. You can add a thin headband or leave some pieces sticking out by your forhead. You can also put it in a messy bun.

If you can leave it down, a half ponytail with a clip would look good. you can clip back anywhere from just your bangs or half of your hair and still make it look good. Just make sure to leave some hair out by your forhead so it doesn't look too harsh.

As for hair products, don't use too much. But Dream Curlz by John Frieda Frizz Ease works really well and so does the line of Totally Twisted products by Herbel Esscenses.

Hope I helped!

People with curly hair, how do you do your hair on school days?

wet it shake it with dep in it shakwe it again

Curly hair please!?

Ok so I just finished growing my hair down alittle above my elbows. My hair is straight and I have an absolute obsession with curly hair! I don't want to get a perm, and I don't want to have to use a curling iron. How can I get kinky curly hair without much effort?

Curly hair please!?

I'm a big fan of pin curls. They're far more comfortable to sleep on than rollers, and I think the result is far more natural looking.

http://www.make-it-count.org/mic_curls.p... has a nice list of ways to get curly hair!

Curly hair please!?

after you take a shower put your hair in a nice, tight bun and sleep in it. or you can put it in braids and it will be crimped. in the moring it will be so curly/crimped.

Curly hair please!?

ok girl if you dont like perms or culing irons, the only other way to go is with rollers. i think the most effective one are the foam ones.. and they are also the most comfy.

or learn to love your straight hair.. long straight hair is ABSOLUTELY GOREGOS%26gt; peace out

Curly hair please!?

Get the really soft hair rollers and put them in before bed.

Curly hair please!?

a good way to get a some curls/kinks in yoru hair with little effort is to take a shower adn as soon as u get out braid your hair. you can braid one braid for not a kinky as an effect or two for an even disrtibution. you can also do a coupel of braids to give you straght hair a curly look to it make sure to use a gel or hairspray to keep your style for a longer time..

Curly hair please!?

The best way is to go down to salon and ask for a shampoo and roller set, ask the stylist to show you how to put rollers into your hair so that you can do it yourself whenever you want to

or even better ask your mum, aunts or granny about roller setting your hair and invest in salon type rollers, good setting lotion, rattail comb and setting net if you can

please note non heated rollers are better for your hair than curling tongs or heated rollers and also try to let your hair air dry as this is the best way to obtain curls in your hair

also keep on practicing with the rollers until you get used to using them, I have been using them for several years and roller set my hair whilst watching tv

As i repeat the beauty of rollers is that you can curl your hair whenever you want and my hair normally stays curly from between 12-24hrs before i need to curl it again

Curly hair please!?

You can get your hair curly as if you've had a pern. Get some of those curlers that look like sticks, about 6-8 inches long %26amp; they bend on the ends to stay in hair w/o clips or pins. they also make those in heat rollers.

For hair that long, the ends are what you'll concentrate on,so roll up at least 1/2 way, can't go any further because the roll will be so BIG will not hold anymore hair. Top %26amp; around face roll tight on small heat rollers,or small curlers. If using all heat rollers, allow them stay in your hair about 1/2 hour.

You can also set your hair on perm rods with the paper wrap %26amp; sleep in them, will be curly as a perm-just not "permanent" curl...PS salon owner %26amp; operator for yrs.

Curly hair please!?

when you take a shower, brush your hair when it is wet, then leave it alone. when its dry it should be curly, then you can brush it again. or you can get some curling shampoo at a local store. hope this helps!

= )

Curly hair please!?

After washing and towel-drying your your hiar, distribute a small amount of gel and then braid it in big chunky braids.
